The deer is a revered animal to the Iroquois and all Woodland tribes.

The deer fed and clothed so many of us, for many generations, along with providing shelter and an assortment of decorative and functional items.

The six antlers on this sculpture represent the Six Iroquois Nations.

Antlers were used on the heads of staffs, including our Tribal Council staffs, which carried the stories and representations of the Nations.
